Reflection for the Day
April 1If we don’t want to slip, we’ll avoid slippery places. For the gambler that means shunning online slots parties and race tracks and anywhere that gambling is taking place. For me, certain emotional situations can also be slippery places; so can indulgence in old ideas, such as a well-nourished resentment that is allowed to build to explosive proportions.Do I carry the principles of the Gamblers Anonymous Program with me wherever I go?TODAY I PRAYMay I learn not to test myself too harshly by “asking for it,” by stopping in at the casino , the Bingo hall, or the track. Such “testing” can be dangerous, especially if I am egged on, not only by a craving for the old object of my addictions, but by others still caught in addiction whose moral responsibility has been reduced tozero.TODAY I WILL RE…

Here is some of your favorite online casino games now online, like Bar X Majic 7 and more. 18-01-2010 (Stockholm, Sweden) Virgin Casino has added four more games from the GTECH G2 side games portfolio. The Electrocoin Bar X Magic launched at the popular UK online casino several weeks ago and now four more proven [...]

US Online Gambling Update
There has recently been a change of opinion from the United States Department of Justice. The issue in question is how the Wire Act of 1961 affects various forms of online gambling. The Department of Justice has explained that its legal counsel has looked more carefully at the Wire Act, and is of the opinion that the act is not about all forms of online gambling, and only about sports gambling. Up until now, the federal authorities in the United States used the Wire Act to prohibit all forms of online gambling. The Wire Act was not used in isolation since the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) has effectively rendered online gambling illegal in the United States since it bans all online gambling transactions. However, many of the prohibitions to do with online gambling in the US have recently been connected to the Wire Act. The statement from the United States Department of Justice included the following: The Department of Justices view is and has been for some time that all forms of Internet gambling, including sports wagering, casino games and card games, are illegal under federal law. While many of the federal statutes do not use the term Internet gambling, we believe that the statutory language is sufficient to cover it. The statement further noted: The Criminal Divisions premise is incorrect and that the Wire Act prohibits only the transmission of communications related to bets or wagers on sporting events or contests.” While this will affect how online gambling is looked at in a legal sense, there are other issues that need to be addressed. For example, the American Gaming Association is still of the opinion that online gambling needs to be regulated and legalized on a federal level. This would be important because of the safety for consumers and it would prevent fraud and money laundering, address problem gambling and ensure players arent being cheated.” Related Posts A 3D Scratch Slot Launched by NeoGames Mega Moolah Hit Before New Years New Slot from Rival Gaming Christmas and New Years Bonuses at Club World Casino Manhattan Slots Christmas and New Year Bonuses Share on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace…

Guardian Series: My Favourite Hand of the Late Night Poker Series
Other articles byVicky Coren You are here: Home Poker Articles & Features Vicky Coren Guardian Series: My Favourite Hand of the Late Night Poker Series Victoria Coren It’s quite fun, this Guardian experiment. They’re having a games slot every day – bridge, chess, that sort of thing – and I’m doing the poker one. It’s aimed at the fairly new player, who might have watched a bit of poker on TV and just started playing with their friends and wants a few tips. So for the moment in the column I’m generally advocating caution and covering basics – it’s a way of trying to help people avoid losing all their money in their first few weeks or months playing the game! If the links are going up on the Hendon Mob page, I hope I don’t get a flood of people shouting at me on the forum – ‘What do you MEAN, pass A9 before the flop?’ and that kind of thing. This isn’t complex stuff to be debated by people who have already been playing for years – it’s just start-up tips and ways not to go broke. Whatever I tell the Guardian, I’d probably stick the lot in with A9 cos I came here to gamble…” Vicky… x (Vicky is sponsored by PokerStars.com.

College Students Can Get Into the Online Blackjack Game Too!
November 17th, 2011 Admin When youre trying to think of ways to entertain yourself, you might have more options than you realize yes, even if youre a college student. Most people realize that when you give up a lot of your money to go to school, youre going to have to make sacrifices. Most college students really cant afford to spend a lot of money, so they have to be careful about what type of entertainment they actually indulge in. If you spend too much money youre not going to be able to enjoy the college experience, and whats the point in that? Youre better off making sure that you can focus on the bigger picture before anything else. Yet theres nothing wrong with online casino games. In fact, we would argue that playing online blackjack is a lot easier to control than some other things that are open to college students. For example, you might be invited out for a few college drinking parties. Alcohol usually just slows you down and its a lot of money to spend on something that you dont need. If you feel like youre just going to be stuck in the house anyway, why not check out other gambling games? For example, you can go with slots. Slots like the Book of Ra Online game are going to be affordable even on a college students budget. You dont have to spend a lot of money to have a good time. The benefit of playing casino games online as a college student is that youre going to have a chance to make a little money on the side. We know that everyone can use a little bit of extra money these days, so why not jump in on the trend while its here? The holiday season is perfect because youll have time to concentrate on your new gambling style. Lets not forget about roulette casino games either roulette is all about luck, which makes it perfect. Its not hard to learn, and the rewards are great too. As long as you are of legal gambling age, you can get in on the fun and even start earning bonus credits that will lead to more time at the tables. Sure, its a lot to take in at the very start but youre in college so that means you should be able to catch on fast why not make sure that you get started today?

Online BlackJack- Whats So Hot About It?
March 15th, 2010 / Posted by Suicidalsam in Online BlackJack There is no doubt that Blackjack is one of the most popular card games and forms of gambling around the world and has been for ages. And, the best news is that advancing technology has brought blackjack right into our homes with the emergence and growing popularity of online blackjack casinos. While there is no substituting the camaraderie one may feel in the casino or the excitement in its atmosphere, online blackjack offers many distinct advantages over traditional brick and mortar casinos. Here are some of them. Comfort of Your Home: This is one of the most important advantages of online blackjack. You dont have to go anywhere to play your favorite game. In many localities, the choices between land based casinos involve dingy dark places in the back alley or expensive classy joints. Imagine how much you would need to spend on a trip to Las Vegas if you wanted to play in the best land based casino. For the best blackjack online casino, you just have to do some online research. Bonuses: Given that there are many online casinos on the Internet, it is obvious that they compete with each other for a larger share of players and in the bargain you stand to benefit. One of the many perks online blackjack casinos offer to attract new players is free bonuses. This means that you actually get money to play blackjack with!Options: Online blackjack casinos offer a number of options to players including multi-player games and tournaments and even offer a regular jackpot to sweeten the odds.Help: This is perhaps another very important benefit offered by online casinos. For people who are beginning to play the game, online casinos offer a lot of help and information to get them started. Many online blackjack casinos also have chat rooms, where you can discuss strategy and game play with other more expert players.

Pappas Debates Frank Online Poker Bill on MSNBC
John Pappas spoke in favor of H.R. 2267, Barney Frank’s bill regulating online poker, in a debate on MSNBC. John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, appeared last week on MSNBC for a brief discussion of the bill authored by Barney Frank seeking to regulate online poker. Tim Kelly, a professor of psychology who served as executive director of the National Gambling Impact Study Commission, was on hand to speak against the bill.Pappas told the network poker players from bipartisan backgrounds have united behind Frank, as the essential issue involved in the Internet gambling debate is about freedom. He said that while Frank may not carry the support of all the PPA members in other areas, he has come to be a symbol of liberty due to this bill.Kelly wisecracked that the Internet poker bill is being brought by “the same people who brought us sub-prime mortgages,” referring to the moves by the House Financial Services Committee contributing to the mortgage meltdown. He also advanced the constant misrepresentation by gaming foes that passing 5the bill means opening a casino in every household.Pappas responded that the ban favored by Kelly and his allies has failed to meet their own criteria for rejecting online gambling. Pappas offered that “the current law protects not a single child nor a single problem gambler.”When Kelly said revenue claims from licensing online poker sites are effectively taxing the poor, Pappas corrected him, pointing out that gambling winnings are already officialy taxed, and that any new revenue would come at the excpense of overseas operators who ciurrently pay no US tax.Kelly also said the US should not be condoning gambling behavior, while Pappas returned to a Frank tenet, that there is a wide difference between government allowing its citizens freedom to choose and sanctioning the activity, the area in which personal liberty falls.

Cryptologic Has Good Third Quarter
Cryptologice, the online casino software company, has released some good results for the third quarter of 2011. The online casino software company has been struggling to get back to its former profit making position in the market, and has been making many changes over the past year or so in order to return to profitability. The third quarter results show that the online casino software company is obviously getting something right. The total revenue of Cryptologic increased since the second quarter of 2011. The increase went from $7 million to $7.2 million. The total expenses of the online casino software provider stood at $6.5 million in the second quarter of 2011, and they dropped to $5.9 million in the third quarter of 2011. The income received before taxes was $0.5 million in the second quarter and has increased by more than double to $1.3 million in the third quarter. The revenue that was received from hosted casinos in the second quarter of this year was $5.7 million, and this amount rose to a total of $6.5 million received in revenue from hosted casinos in the third quarter. Although the revenue from hosted casinos was up, the revenue from branded games dropped from $2.1 million in the second quarter to $1.4 million in the third quarter. Poker revenues rose by one third, with the second quarter showing poker revenues at $200,000 and the third quarter showing poker revenues at $300,000. Operating expenses were $4.5 million, and the amount of cash on hand increased. Cash on hand as of the 30th June 2011 was $12 million, and cash on hand at the end of the third quarter was $15.2 million. Cryptologic is a well established and trusted online gaming software provider that continues to offer both its players and its online gambling sites excellent service.
